Essential storage
Essential storage supports the requested site experience and remembers the visitor cookie preference.
- The cookie preference is stored in local storage and a same-site preference cookie.
- Essential storage is not used for advertising or cross-site behavioral profiling.
- Rejecting optional analytics keeps calculators, guides, directory pages, quote forms, and vendor forms usable.
Optional analytics
If accepted, optional analytics may use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity as third-party measurement services and may also create an anonymous browser session ID for limited first-party event logs.
- Events may include page path, calculator type, broad estimate outputs, button clicks, form start or submit events, and interaction signals such as clicks, scrolls, heatmaps, or session replay data.
- Analytics payloads must not include emails, phone numbers, token values, private IDs, payment details, or raw form fields.
- Quote and vendor forms are marked for Clarity masking so sensitive form content is not intentionally uploaded for session replay.
- Global Privacy Control is treated as optional analytics rejection when no prior site preference exists.
Third-party scripts
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are treated as optional third-party analytics and stay blocked until acceptance. Advertising pixels, remarketing, and cross-site tracking are not enabled in the MVP.
- Future analytics scripts must declare a cookie category and wait for acceptance.
- Future ad or remarketing scripts require banner, policy, audit, and legal review updates before release.
- Cookie consent never replaces quote-request, vendor-routing, call, SMS, payment flow, or lead-sharing consent.
